“Dove Se Piccolino” is a poem my mother learned in Italy when she was a little girl. She shared this poem with me for the first time when she was in her late 80’s. The title, and first line, asks the question ”Where Are You Little One?” It’s an allegory, written in question and answer format. It’s about a seed, under ground, that will one day become golden wheat. Jesus rose from the dead, and those who die in Christ, will one day rise again! This poem has special significance for me because my mother came to the Lord very late in her life.

Spon daro pi prima vera.

Mi darei un fiorilino,
come il pesco di giardino?

No, no fiore, ma un desoro,
di dare una spiga d’oro.

John 12:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
Adam Clarke’s Commentary:

The end of his death-the redemption of a lost world; the justification, sanctification, and glorification of men: as the multiplication of the corn is the end for which the grain is sown and dies.
1 Corinthians 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
